Hollywood Grand Dames

  • Fontenoy on 1811 N. Whitley in Hollywood is a Chateau style residence built in 1928 by designer by Leland A. Bryant. Johnny Depp and Nicholas Cage have both lived at the Fontenoy. With only four units on each floor every unit is a corner unit. Extraordinary views of the Hollywood sign, downtown and the ocean. Large garden with an oval pool.
  • El Royale on 450 N. Rossmore in Hancock Park is compared to the Dakota apartments in New York. It has mystique and pedigree, built in 1927-29 and designed in Spanish and French Renaissance-style by William Douglas Lee. The historic hallways have been used in numerous movies. Loretta Young, Judy Holliday Cameron Diaz, Uma Thurman and Ben Stiller used to live here. Mae West was a resident until she got thrown out for load parties. The 58 unit building has been a celebrity magnet since its doors first opened. It is classy, elegant and a throwback to the golden age of Hollywood, and the hand-painted lobby ceiling is worth a visit alone. The rooftop deck offers a stunning view all the way from Mount Baldy to Marina Del Ray. It is so popular that there are several hundred names on the waiting list.
