Broadway is a major thoroughfare in Los Angeles and one of the oldest streets in the city. For more than 50 years, Broadway from First Street to Olympic Boulevard was the main commercial street of Los Angeles, and one of its premier theater districts as well. This part of the street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and you find numerous historic buildings like the Bradbury Building, the Los Angeles Examiner, and the largest surviving collection of pre-WWII movie palaces in the United States. You will find theaters like the Palace Theater, Million Dollar Theater - the first Los Angeles movie palace built in 1918, State Theater, Globe Theater, Orpheum Theater and the Cameo Theater.
